ABOUT FOREST EXPLORERS

Discover Collie's Natural & Cultural Treasures with a Local Expert

Forest Explorers offers guided nature and cultural tours in the stunning Collie River Valley, Western Australia. Led by local guide Alison, our experiences reveal the hidden stories, native wildflowers, and breathtaking landscapes of this remarkable region.

Authentic Insider Knowledge

At Forest Explorers, we believe every trail tells a story and some are painted in giant, vibrant brushstrokes.

We are thrilled to have Alison leading the way. As a participant artist on the Collie Mural Trail (behind the stunning #7 'Bones of Collie'), Alison doesn't just show you the art; she shares the soul of it. As a dedicated supporter of Western Australian artists, she offers a deep, personal connection to our local Collie creative community

Your Collie Experience

Discover seasonal wildflowers along the Bibbulmun Track, Wambenger Rail Trail, and Wellington National Park. Walk the heritage-rich Throssel Street Trail and immerse yourself in the diverse ecosystems of Crooked Brook and the Collie River Valley.

Nestled in the heart of the Southwest, just two hours from Perth, Forest Explorers offers the ultimate escape for weekend immersions & adventurer, photography buffs, and those yearning for a true Western Australian experience. We invite families and young explorers to join us in the wild, where children can ignite their curiosity and discover the magic of the natural world firsthand. Whether you are wandering through ancient forests or exploring our vibrant local history, our small-group tours provide an authentic, intimate look at the land we call home.

OUR ETHOS

 Sustainable, Local and Professional.

In all things, we will endeavour to:

  • Research all native species, including common, rare, and endangered ones.

  • Acknowledge and report any non-native species to the best of our abilities.

  • Consult with Noongar landowners, pastoralists, and land carers, and show respect for the areas we plan to visit and share.

  • Share information about the local landscape, flora, fauna, history, and culture to enhance the visitor experience.

  • Pets can stress flora and fauna, leave scents, and are prohibited by law from entering parks and reserves.

  • Discourage approaching, touching, or feeding native animals and flora to prevent the spread of diseases unless instructed by the guide.

  • Advise visitors against removing items like wildflowers, seeds, coral, shells, rocks, and fossils from visited areas.

  • Avoid building rock castles/stacks as these rocks are habitats for many creatures.

  • Preserve the country, gates, equipment, and environment as they were found.

  • Watch out for small animals on trails or roads; if possible, stop the tour and move groups away from danger.

  • Offer assistance to other travelers, walkers, and explorers whenever feasible.

  • Collect and dispose of litter properly.

  • Promote green energy and prioritize recycling.

  • Choose recycled paper products.

  • Support local communities by purchasing local supplies.

  • Avoid creating unnecessary trails.

  • Leave only footprints, taking cherished memories and photographs with you

Thank you for your care for our environment.
